I’m a freelance photographer based out of Grand Rapids, MI. I’m from here, and though I’ve relocated all over the country, I’m always eager to come back home.
We have an amazing artistic community in GR, and I intend to keep myself involved. From local bands, to dance recitals, and events big and small, I’ve photographed everything I can, and I love the sense of fellowship that comes from collaboration. I’ve photographed at The Civic Theatre, The Wealthy Theatre, Frederick Meijer Gardens, Rosa Parks Circle, The DAAC, Mexicans Sans Frontieres, and dozens of coffee shops and bars.
It hasn’t stopped at photographing either. I’ve organized and taught photography and photoshop courses, put on exhibitions, and I sell at the Fulton Street Artisan’s Market. I’m a regular at the Grand Rapids, MI Flickr group meet-ups, moderate and submit content for the Rapidian, work alongside the Grand Rapids Community Media Center, and contract for local publications such as REVUE West Michigan and The Litribune.
I need to make a living too, so I shoot weddings, family pictures, senior portraits, and events as a freelance photographer. I have been trying to balance a small and personal operation with a promising and fruitful career.
